MAYER TORI MUSIC CLASS

At Mayer Tori, we believe in the transformative power of music to heal, inspire, and unite communities. Our Music Class is an integral part of our mission to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Lalmonirhat and Kurigram through the enchanting sounds of folk music. This program offers a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the soulful melodies that have been passed down through generations, while also nurturing their own creative alents. Now we have eight music schools in Lalmonirhat and Kurigram districts where more than 600 children learn sing song, learn folk instruments, and so on.

Class Schedule: Our Music Class is held twice a week, every Thursday and Friday, allowing students to engage in consistent learning while balancing their other responsibilities. Each session runs for two hours, providing ample time for in-depth exploration of musical techniques, practice, and collaborative performances.

What We Offer: Participants will learn to play traditional instruments such as the dotara, ektara, and tabla, while also receiving vocal training in various folk styles. Our experienced instructors, who are passionate about preserving local music traditions, guide students through both theoretical and practical aspects of music. Whether you’re a beginner or have some musical background, our classes are designed to cater to all skill levels.

Why Join Us: In addition to technical training, our classes emphasize the cultural significance of the music being taught. Students will gain an understanding of the historical context and the stories behind the songs, making their learning experience both educational and enriching. By the end of the course, students will not only have developed their musical abilities but will also have a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of their community.
